Gazelle Promotion Optimizer

Plan promotions that pay back.

Gazelle Promotion Optimizer automatically assesses how past promotions really performed, then builds a promotion calendar for each customer that you can optimize for the year ahead.

The problem

Most promotion calendars repeat last year — because reviewing them takes too long.

Post-event analysis arrives months late, so next year’s plan is built from habit and retailer requests. Sales teams spend hours assembling calendars by hand, and nobody can say which events actually paid back.

  • Post-promotion reviews arrive too late to change next year’s plan.

  • Deep discounts drive volume but quietly erode margin.

  • Calendars are built by hand, customer by customer.

  • Effects like pull-forward and cannibalization are rarely measured.

How it works

Measure every past event. Build a better calendar.

Promotion Optimizer reuses the predictive models from the Pricing Optimizer, so promotion and price are judged on the same view of demand.

  1. 01

    Performance prediction

Predictive models from the Pricing Optimizer forecast how a promotion will perform before it runs.

  2. 02

    Effectiveness assessment

Integrates with your current systems to pull historical promotions and assess their effectiveness automatically.

  3. 03

    Calendar automation

Builds a promotional calendar for each customer from past events, ready to optimize for the future.

  4. 04

    AI calendar optimization

    In development

An AI agent proposes a calendar, a deterministic evaluator scores it against your KPIs and constraints, and the agent iterates until the plan meets your objectives.

Promotion Optimizer FAQ

Questions we hear about this.

Something else? info@northlightanalytics.com

Does it replace our trade promotion management (TPM) system?+

No. It integrates with the systems you already use to pull historical promotions, and adds the measurement and optimization layer on top.

How does it know what a promotion really delivered?+

It uses the same predictive models as the Pricing Optimizer to separate a promotion’s true lift from what would have sold anyway.

Can it plan for each retailer separately?+

Yes. A promotional calendar is generated for each customer, based on that customer’s past events.

Which constraints can it respect?+

Calendars are evaluated against retailer ROI, cannibalization and pull-forward, cross-SKU halo, spend caps, minimum gaps between events and supply feasibility.

Is AI calendar optimization available now?+

It is in development. Today you get automated effectiveness assessment, performance prediction and automated calendars.
